Gisele Bundchen: the World's First Billionaire Model (Almost)

With the recent launch of her third collection for C&A, super model Gisele Bundchen is now inching closer to actually becoming the world's first model to become a billionaire.

Gisele, who is believed to be on track to becoming the world's first model billionaire, made $45million last year alone, according to Forbes.

It estimates that she has made $250million over the past 10 years, but the launch of her own skincare and lingerie lines now look set to push her earnings into the stratosphere.

Unfortunately for many of the model's fans, though, the collection will only be available in C&A's Brazilian stores.

In addition to her C&A line, the products she has lent her name to include a footwear line for Ipanema, which sold 25 million pairs in 2010 alone.

Among her independent endeavours are an eco-friendly beauty line, Sejaa Pure Skincare, which she owns 100 per cent.

And earlier this year saw the launch of her debut lingerie collection in Brazil. With the country's womenswear industry growing by 22 per cent, it has already been tipped to boost her earnings by $19m a year.

Last month, a blog, which tracked the stock of every publicly trading company Gisele has represented since 2007 found that its 'Gisele Bundchen Index' dramatically outperforms the Dow Jones.
