The actor was named as one of 22 people who won hundreds of thousands in illegal games where a Hollywood hedge fund manager gambled away his clients money.
He was alleged to have won $300,000 in money that Brad Ruderman stole from his clients by running a Bernard Madoff style Ponzi scheme.
Bankruptcy executives sued Maguire and others in the high stakes games for the return of $25m (£17m) lost by Ruderman.
Maguire was named along with Leonardo Di Caprio and Ben Affleck as regulars in the illegal poker games held in Hollywood hotel suites and homes.
Players had to put down a minimum of $100,000 (£65,000) to be allowed into the Texas Hold 'Em games.
Maguire, 36, denied knowing the money being gambled by Ruderman had been stolen.
Court filings reveal that he has agreed to pay $80,000 to have his name dropped from further legal matters.
