Buffy’s Michelle Trachtenberg Could Have Been Bella Swan

Michelle Trachtenberg is probably best known for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan, and she has been friends with Twilight director Catherine Hardwick for years. Now Trachtenber has told Us Weekly that she could have landed a role in the Twilight franchise.

"There was definitely interest here and there because there's only so few pale girls in Hollywood," she joked.

She said that, ultimately, the reason we never got to see Trachtenberg instead of Kristen Stewart or Ashley Greene came down to timing.

"I guess schedules never worked out," she explained. While she said that she's "already done the vampire thing" and that she never wonders how her life would have changed if she starred in "Twilight" because then she wouldn't be "living in the moment."

Still, after "Breaking Dawn" earned over $500 million worldwide, that lost opportunity has got to sting.
