The new version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”
featuring Justin Bieber hasn’t been out for a week yet and already it’s gaining
controversy. The 41-year old who just had a baby teamed up with the 17-year old
who’s allegedly already a baby daddy.
In the duo's new music video, Carey shows off her post-pregnancy
body in a sexy Santa Claus outfit, while Bieber and his friends shop for
holiday gifts, like high-top kicks and Nintendo DS'. Then Bieber becomes some
sort of Willy Wonka/Santa hybrid as people rush into the store with their
golden tickets, only to be showered with gifts from the teen superstar.
Of course, it gets weirder from there. Throughout the video,
Carey, 41, and Bieber, 17, share more than a few flirty looks, and some parents
who watched the video in the NBC website are not so pleased with Bieber getting
cozy with the pop icon.
Some of the parents’ comments below:
“My husband and I were deeply offended with the Bieber/Carey
video and had to change the channel until the video ended. Christmas is the
celebration of a sacred religious event, no matter how much our culture has
tried to make it into anything but. The disgusting, soft-porn video had no
place being shown on a family program.”
“I created an account just to write this post: This video
was highly inappropriate for the viewers of NBC's “Christmas in Rockefeller Center ”. My husband and I were both
appalled at seeing this on primetime TV for families. Most folks want
heart-warming Christmas festivities, not sexy (verging on pedophiliac)
overtures. We are childless & in our early thirties, so we're hardly
old & out-of-touch. NBC, get your act together - this was embarrassing!”
