Christian Bale say 'Dark Knight Rises' His Last Batman Film

Christian Bale admitted recently that Dark Knight Rises--the last in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy--will be the last time he's playing the role of the caped crusader.

The Dark Knight Rises is expected to lean closer to its predecessor's numbers at the box office when it hits theatres on July 20, 2012.

The latest - and some say final - film in the franchise stars Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.





According to Bale, 29-year-old Hathaway had the most difficult role to play as she stepped into Catwoman's shoes.

Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer and Lee Merriwether have all portrayed the iconic, latex-wearing DC Comics character.

Said Bale: 'In many ways, [Hathaway] had the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously. So, I always saw Anne's role as being the toughest job of any of us.'
